I finally started a blog! Welcome. This is going to be the place where I share my knitting and other creative projects with the world. My wonderful Grandmother taught me how to knit when I was fairly young. I learned the very basics then: how to cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and how to cast off. I played around with yarn and knitting needles as I watched her turn a pile of yarn into a pair of socks or a sweater in mere hours. She was amazing to watch and very talented. I never saw her with a pattern and I am quite sure that she didn't even know how to read them. All she needed was a set of needles, plenty of yarn, and a little time and she was capable of making just about anything. I personally did not start knitting seriously until a couple of years ago. I was using simple patterns to make things like scarves and pot-holders. However, in the last couple of months I have really gotten back into knitting and I have learned some new techniques by expanding on what Grandma had already taught me. I have also learned how to read patterns. Online I have found many resources and free patterns to help me along the way. The internet really is an amazing and helpful place.
